Now that a little time has passed from the Austin Peay game. What do you think is going to happen this week?
1) We'll have a tough first half but take over the game in the second half?
2) We'll have the same issues we had this past week because we're too inexperienced and lose the game?
3) We'll prove that last week was a usual let down game after preparing for UGA all Summer and come out firing on all cylinders?
I tend to think that they learned a big lesson this past week. So my vote is for #3. Every team has weeks like we just had. We just need to prove a point this weekend.
What do ya'll think?
Oh, and by the way, if I'm missing the button to make an actual poll on here let me know. I just couldn't find it this time.

My guess is a back and forth affair, with both our offense and defense playing inexplicably poorly on some possessions. It'll look more like UTC, CCU, and Elon from last year than last week. I predict we'll pull it out late, 31-27.

#3 sounds like the happiest scenario to me.

I'm thinking we are going to come out and lay the boom this week. I just have that feeling. Zeke is going to run wild and Henton solidifies himself as the QB.

Until something happens to prove me wrong I am thinking that this game will be closer than it should be because our defense can't shut them down. So basically a combination of 1 and 2 if I had to guess. We win, but with a late score.

Well since over half of our team is made up of freshman or redshirt freshman it is anyone's guess. I am afraid it will be this way for most of the season.

This week of practice will be tough on our Eagles. The Head Eagle wasn't happy with their playing ability. I look for the Team to motivated on both sides of the ball.
They start out sluggish but turn it on in the 3rd & 4th quarters.

I think we will practice and get a little better, but we are still a young in experienced team. Unfortunately I see this game being a lot closer than it should be as our team still works its kinks out and starts to take shape. Hopefully we still get out with the W. I hate to be negative, but 1 week of practice isn't going to fix some of our issues.

I would hope #3 happens, but until we learn to play 4 quarters of football, I think what happened on Saturday may be the way the season goes. Taking away the WCU games from the last 2 seasons, I can't remember the last time we came out and just drilled somone from kickoff until the final gun. I hope this trend changes soon.

Well whatever happens we will have another pleasant day of Mid 90's with high humidity. I was thinking about going down around Darien and getting a few thousand of the really mean sand gnats to send up there.
I think we will probably play close early and turn it on in the second half...not as sluggish first half. They are going to learn....they are young, but they play very hard. Some of these guys are going to be awesome by year end, ready for the playoffs.

like you all, I'm thinking 3. I think a big factor in game will be our overall speed and yes the heat(i think the heat and humid weather will wear them down some)

The team will continue to improve and gel each week and will be a better team this week than they were last week.
What impressed me from this past weekend is that the team was able to make plays when it mattered and stuck together and believed in each other even though they came out flat.
We got some senior leadership on defense from Covington and Rogers and hopefully some of our seniors on offense like Herrera, Andrews, Camp can step up, make some plays and lead the offense.
I also believe we are pretty close to seeing a player take reins of the QB position, which will lead to continuity and an offensive identity.

One huge positive I've seen from our team so far this year:
Conditioning.
I think we've been in better shape than both of our opponents so far. This matters in September for sure. Maybe by week three it's a non-factor. I dunno.

I agree. They seem to be very well conditioned.

I agree, and Rogers is back next year, glad to see him playing well this early in the season.

Obviously, the A-Peay game showed that we are probably a little over rated, #17, in the eyes of the FCS crowd.
A_Peay was picked 7th out of 9 in the OVC! and was held to I believe a whopping 91 yards of total offense vs NDSU. APEAY sucks, nevermined that was another thread!! ha ha ha!
NE had a bad record last year, 3-8, BUT beat/killed then #8 New Hampshire 31 - 13
then squeeked out a 35 - 31 victory over then #18 Hofstra.
Week-in-and-Week-out by playing in the CAA they face stiff competition like we do in the Southern.
Hopefully, the APEAY game has brought all of us,( players, fans, FCS "Experts" ) back to reality and we stay focused on one game at a time.
Mainly I hope the PLAYERS, don't really care about the experts, and only a little about the fans.
THIS IS THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON, remember 1 at a time. Hopefully, we will beg, borrow, or steal our way to a victory, Gain experience needed for conference play, and not get anyone hurt.
This year is/will cause many a grey hair.

Hopefully we don't have to win by kicking a field goal in the final seconds, my ticker can't take that and Hartley is looking ify.
