For anyone with a copy of Erk's book, where did you get it and how much did you have to pay? The only copies I can find are on Amazon.com. I believe it's been out of print for a while, so I think the remaining copies have gotten pretty expensive. I'm hoping to ask for a copy for my birthday, but not if it's too much money. Any info would be appreciated.

My wife got me a copy off ebay 2 years ago for Father's Day ($80). The nice, unplanned surprise is that it was signed by Erk. It also had a signed note in the inside cover apologizing for the mistakes in the first run due to trying to make the printing deadline. To add, I took it to Snooky's and had Ric Mandes, Bruce Yawn, and others there sign it, who wrote small parts.

It's a great read, and one of my most prized GSU collectibles.

It seems like I gave $55 for mine a year or so ago through Amazon.

I was fortunate enough to have the foresight to buy one a long time ago when they were still readily available. I bought it from the on-campus bookstore and gave it to my father as either a Christmas or birthday gift in 1993 or 94.

I bought mine on Ebay for $20 3 months before he died :(

I wish I'd been lucky enough to get a signed one. I'm gonna regret forever not getting him to sign something, I saw him a few times and just never had anything or wasn't able to ask.

I have heard of this book and the other one written by Mark McClellan "Just One More Time: The Miracle of Georgia Southern Football".

But that book web site also listed a third book about our team. It is titled "Guts, Glory, and the Gridiron: A history of Georgia Southern University Football" by F. Erik Brooks. I have never heard of this book or author. It said it was a hardbound book being published later this year 04-2009. I know one more thing I want for Christmas this year. After the seventh flag flying over Paulson stadium.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...but F. Erik Brooks is a professor here at GSU. I had him last semester for a class. He's a BIG southern football buff.

EDIT: Yep...it's him. Book is coming out in April. Here are some other books he has written also:

Mine too, I don't know why these family's would get rid of such a treasure.

Yeah, I have "Just One More Time: The Miracle of Georgia Southern Football". It is actually a VERY good read for those who want to learn more about our traditions. I'm from the PJ days of GSU football, so it really taught me the history I had heard so much about.

i wonder if it would be possible to purchase the publishing rights for this book? and comission another printing of the book, or at the very least publish it as a ebook for kindle and nook.

I bought my Erk book from the bookstore about 11 years ago and had Erk sign it at the Atlanta Touchdown club in 2000. The Just one More time book I found in a small bookstore in New Jersey not long after I graduated college in the mid 90's. I hate to read and not sure why I walked in that store, but I am glad I did. Keep looking and you will find the books.
