Are our DB's not taught to get their head around and find the football? I can remember at least 5 times tonight where both our starting corners were in position to make a play if they just looked back. I know I was always taught to run with the WR, and when he looks back, you look back. Either our corners are just that bad or they aren't listening or the coaches are teaching them a different way...but they're never going to be able to cover anybody with their head turned towards the bleachers, and it usually draws an automatic flag.

I noticed the same thing. I sure hope our db's aren't being taught the technique I saw tonight.

Carson had one right in his hands that if he caught he would have taken it to the house, it was right before they took the lead. It wasnt like our DB's were'nt covering the reciever, just turn their head around!!

there is no excuse for that. apsu still caught the balls on most of those PI's. maybe everyone had neck injuries? there is no reason for that to happen as often as it did.

Well it goes both ways. Atleast twice last night our DB's had pass breakups b/c they kept their eyes on the receivers and knocked the balls loose after the catch.

Could they not have broken those passes up looking back for the ball? I think they could've intercepted those balls too, and IMO we were lucky the WR's didn't squeeze them. I just don't see the benefit in that kind of coverage whatsoever, especially after continuous burns and penalties against Austin Peay.

It happened several times last week at UGA too. I specifically remember about a 25yd completion to the tight end. I can't remember exactly who was covering (I think it was Webb), but they had perfect coverage but never looked back and the ball wizzed right by his head into the TE's arms. One small glance back and that ball is knocked down with ease.
