Well the poll will probably come out late Monday afternoon and looking at who lost that was ahead of us in the poll two teams stand out

Youngstown State lost and so did Cal Poly both were ranked 14th and 11th

I see us maybe moving up a spot or two

Yeah, wow, what was the score? 40 to 7? I think I am glad we aren't playing the Jackrabbits this year.

montana but good game

Cal-Poly missed a FG from somewhere in the 20's with less than a minute in the game.

I listened to the game. It was an awesome game.

Yeah, I believe Montana won this one 30 - 28 and the missed field goal mentioned earlier would have won the game for Cal. Poly. Seeing as how it was Montana that beat them I wouldn't think they would drop too much.

I thin we may move up maybe one spot....at best only 2.... We just need to win the next game.....then the next ......and the next.....etc then all that wil take care of itself.

Not necessarily...they asked me if I wanted to vote in the poll because I had more than 100 posts on their board. I'd say that I'm a somewhat knowledgeable sports guy, but have absolutely no business voting on a national poll for I-AA. To say that everyone taht votes on it actaully takes the time to think about what they are voting for might be a little bit of a stretch.

And do they use this poll for anything? The Sportsnetwork poll is the official I-AA poll that is used.

I'm not saying that any of them don't take the time, but the problem that I have with it is that the people that run the poll have no way of knowing whether I, or any of the other voters ARE taking the time to do it seriously.

They have a checks and balance system in place to keep actual pollsters from voting irresponsibly.

BTW, I really think you would be fair-minded in your voting.

TSN has three teams that have NO place in this weeks' poll. All of them are 0 - 2.

Some info.

The TSN poll is used by the committee along with the GPI (Gridiron Power Index)in selecting playoff at-large participants. The GPI in somewhat similar to the BCS poll in that it is a compilation of various human polls and computer generated rankings.

The AGS poll has a committee that screens the poll submissions to weed out any obvious homer picks. If there is any questions in a poll submission, then they will ask for clarifications.

About the only weight that the AGS poll has in the playoff selection is that it is a component of the GPI, and the GPI is used by the selection committee as a tool.
