I have a feeling E22 probably hit closest to home as to why this happened with the Campus Carry law passing. Before all weapons were illegal on campus, but the rules have now changed. This would limit the opportunities for a weapon to come inside the gate. Not that I necessarily agree with the policy, but I can see the reasoning behind it in light of recent events.

Also, for all you people worried about ISIS, domestic terrorism is a greater threat, with homegrown Americans being the perpetrators.
Agree, just can't buy into the campus carry being the reason for this. It's gov't overreach and that's MHO. Besides, if I'm carrying, it's on me, not in a bag, and since they never frisk, I could sneak in several varieties of weapons, especially when it's cold and everyone wears coats. I've yet to see anyone have their pant legs checked for ankle holsters, etc... Point is, I know we have no choice but it doesn't seem logical to go thru this for some false sense of security. JMO

Only chance of this team winning less than 6 games is if it's ravenged by injuries. Anybody predicting 4 wins or some crap like that is clueless. Post Arkansas St game is going to be fun around here to watch the crow being eaten. Heck, even post UNH is going to provide some fun.

I do not know if Alabama has a campus carry law so I will go with the approach that Alabama has the same campus carry law as Georgia. For me to have a hand gun on campus I would have to have a pistol permit or I would be arrested for having the hand gun in my position. Now I am a law abiding citizen of the state of Alabama who does not have a pistol permit and would therefor be breaking Alabama Gun laws if I had a hand gun on my person anywhere besides my own property. To have a hand gun inside my automobile I would be breaking the law if the hand gun was not inside a locked box attached to my vehicle and also unloaded inside that the locked box.

A terrorist is not going to care one way or the other about what the law is where they are located. Me personally I would want Alabama to have a campus carry law for the following reason. My son is a student a Auburn. He owns a handgun and has a pistol permit an usually has the gun inside his auto. I would not want to see him be arrested because he was pulled over on Auburns Campus instead of off campus.

He should be arrested for going to Auburn, gun or no gun..

First, it's harder to hide a pressure cooker or other dangerous stuff in a clear bag, or such a small bag = win for safety.

Next, I'm ok with surveillance of every American in a public place. Such surveillance is going to focus on those carrying potential threats, like book bags.

Also, home grown is what I'm worried about. To many Americans don't really appreciate or comprehend what they have. That's evident by how many supporters a Socialist like Bernie Sanders had. Too much entitlement and people sitting around and reading the internet where these terrorist groups recruit. We've got a generation or two that include lots of people with free money, no job and tons of time, no pride in their country who have been brain washed into believing that WE are the real evil in the world. They take up the "struggles and fight" of somebody else because they have no REAL struggle of their own and nothing to really fight about here. YES, those home grown terrorist are dangerous.

Boo-hoo, "I've got to carry a clear bag.." breeze.. get over it.

I'm also ok with letting everybody without a felony or violent crime conviction to carry handguns just about anywhere. I understand sporting events bring out a lot of emotion and probably not the right place for it.
But we'd have a lot less mass shootings if most of the people next to the "shooter" could shoot back.

As bad as Argus is, I "think" they might be able to catch someone smuggling in a pressure cooker in a regular bag.

You don't have to actually get it in. With a clear bag policy, anyone in the line with a regular bag is going to be suspect.

And I don't want just Argus being able to spot it - with clear, anyone can.

    Harder in this:

As big of a hassle as the bag policy can be (and will be for folks that won't be aware of the change), if there's some logical reason for it I can accept it. I know this is an extremely isolated incident, but I do remember the students who put a homemade bomb next to the RAC in the fall of 1998. Their motivation was to create a distraction so they could rob the financial aid building. Point is that there are plenty of crazies that are motivated by something other than a political or religious ideology. Granted, I have no idea how clear bags fit into safety and security in the grand scheme of things, but the number of schools and conferences going to them has got to have some kind of reasoning behind it.

Haha imagine what Shane Mckevlin could do with a clear bag. Thank goodness he still can't come into Bulloch County.
