$160 for a whole year is not expensive. That is just over $13 a month.

For perspective, at GT everyone pays $750 per year, students, faculty, and staff.

Is it worth not getting your diploma for a rule you knowingly broke and got caught? I've never gotten this mentality. No it's not a millennial thing because this was the same thought process people had 20 years ago when I was in school.

I have a feeling you will be paying the ticket sooner or later. It will probably show up as a hold on graduation in your Wings account when you apply for graduation.

Many schools will place a hold on your account which will prevent you from registering for classes. This included parking fines. I know from my daughter's GT days.

Now, from the Southern Parking and Registrar web pages.....

    http://auxiliary.georgiasouthern.edu/parking/rules/
All fines not paid within the specified time become financial obligations to the university. Staff members and students must pay all fines before they can purchase future permits, clear for graduation, or receive transcripts.
    http://em.georgiasouthern.edu/regist...s-information/
Financial Hold: Review your invoice balance and submit payment to clear this hold. You will not be allowed to register or withdraw from classes, request transcripts or graduate until the Bursar’s Office has received your payment and the hold is removed.
Nothing real definitive here, but worth chancing?

You can definitely still register for classes with unpaid parking tickets. I did it all the time. You just can't graduate. They aren't go to say "No thanks we don't want your $10,000 because you owe us $35"

I don't even think they enforce the graduation rule. I graduated 6 years ago and still have 3 outstanding tickets. I have my diploma and they sent my transcripts to my grad school, no questions asked.
