Success is the difference, they had Jerry Moore for years and kept him because they were just average at football. When they finally had a lot of success at FB he was to old to attract an FBS job. Where we lost coaches who were in their prime because we were successful. You are comparing apples and oranges.

That's never been a problem for us in the past. If we're going to lose, let's at least try something that may give us a chance of winning and bring us some form of respectability. It's not an unreasonable expectation for us to perform well in the flex option.
IMO if we attempt to implement a different scheme in week 3-4 and it is not successful (which is my prediction since our starting QB appears to have difficulty pitching the football, amoung other reasons) then that just gives this staff an excuse in which to blame said failure and increases the possibility of extending their tenure.

Our current offensive scheme is not workinng. A flex might. Either way I don't think the staff can justify failure regardless what type of scheme they try. If their not successful, there will be extension debate for infinity.

We already have flexbone stuff in the playbook. I watched us practice it in pre-game against Auburn. It looked like only the rocket toss though...and it looked ****ty in warm-ups.

I think too many people are trying to make this about taking sides. I am fully of the belief that a change needs to be made. I also at the same time really want for this to somehow turn around for Summers because I like the idea of having a head coach that loves this program and its traditions. But when a change is made I won't be upset at the decision but upset it didn't work. And if you want to come after me sarcastically that's fine. But the way that people who like Summers as a person are being turned into the enemy is rediculous.

I can agree once, it is going to get worse.

Well I'll just add that we DO have a loyal coach and we should look on the bright side. He has successfully managed to keep the head coaching recruiters at bay, he knows the China route, and he embraces all but one of our traditions(winning).

I'll root for TS as well as long as he puts a winning product on the field. This task he has failed. He has failed so bad that it's not even debatable.

I can accept the fact that the offense was a struggle to him. What I find even more concerning is that Southern Defense is nothing above average. TS ego in obtaining this HC position was to be the guru defensive specialist. He has been able to recruit and inherit the most physically gifted defensive players this University has ever seen. The defenses and schemes he has put on the field has failed again.

Ill say this again, our defense last Saturday looked unprepared, UNH offense went through us like something through a tin horn, we could not stop them, could not stop them......our offense struggled but I half expected that. What I didn't expect was how poorly we played defensively in that first half, it's really unacceptable.

In all seriousness, if TS can not motivate and bring out a stout defense to the field then this season doesn't any legs. The identity of the 2017 team should have been the DEFENSE.
