Klak already explained this. Please see post #6.

You might have missed it, but with a 2 for 1 you don't get paid for those two away games. You trade the two possible million plus dollar checks for getting the big program to grace Statesboro one time. With what the past couple of years are likely to do to donations and season ticket sales, those checks might be the better option given the choice. If that P5 game required season tickets, with the low cost of ours they'd probably have to sell out the remainder of the entire stadium to make back the two paychecks.

Maybe Eastern Michigan has a phenomenally gifted AD when it comes to negotiating. But they are getting 1.2 million for playing at UK. The other 2 games serve as simply a home and home. This is more of what I was talking about.

The Kentucky Wildcats and the Eastern Michigan Eagles have scheduled a three-game football series for 2017, 2019, and 2020, FBSchedules.com has learned via an open records request to EMU.

In the first game of the series, Kentucky will host Eastern Michigan at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington on Sept. 30, 2017. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

Two seasons later on Sept. 7, 2019, Kentucky will travel to face EMU at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti. The Wildcats will host the third and final game of the series on Sept. 5, 2020.

Although the series is set up like a two-for-one, there are two separate contracts — one for the 2017 game and one for the home-and-home series in 2019 and 2020. According to the contract, Eastern Michigan will receive a $1.2 million guarantee for the 2017 game.

Apparently he is. That's not a 2-for-1. It's two contracts. Semantics. $1.2 million worth of semantics.
Sure, I'd bet most would be on board with something like that.

Eastern Em Effing Michigan has a better negotiator than we do in the driver's seat. Maybe Kleinlein can sign us up to do a 4 for 1 with his friends back at Kent State. We agree to host them first and then play at their place 4 times. But Kleinlein pulls his favorite move and just makes the contract disappear after they make their trip here, so we a 1 for none!

Exactly. I also don't have any heartburn for doing 3 for 1s, if that's what it takes.
Didn't MTSU do a 2 for 1 with Tech a few years ago? Worked out well for them - since they beat Tech in Atlanta on the last of their trips there.

We have obviously been sacrificing something already. Two straight seasons with only 5 home games.

I think Tyson Summers is your new onside kick. You are only able to have one discussion at a time so you post a comment that has nothing to with what was good conversation. It all makes sense now.

We have to get a name to Paulson soon, even if it takes a 2 for 1. All these 5 home games with weeknight games against nobodies are killing any chance we have any growth in season ticket growth. At some point someone has to have the guts (and business sense) to sacrifice a few bucks in the present for program growth in the future.
