Georgia State had a lot of success hiring a "name" coach that had been out of coaching for years after getting run off from an SEC school.

Uh? PJ's HC record 182-91. Nutt's 135-96. Not even close.

I understand where you're going with this, but I am not a part of the PJ-Tree/Flexbone-or-bust crowd AT ALL. Just do not think that Houston Nutt is a good fit for our coaching vacancy.

YES but PJ was a head coach of us, a I-AA team, Navy and now Tech. Nutt was primarily an SEC coach for most of his career. Just a little difference. He did turn around Murray State, Arkansas and Ole Miss. He might not be great for GS, but he's a heck of a lot better than TS.

Nutt was 52-60 in the SEC, had two OK years at Ole Miss (after resigning from Arkansas) before having a recruiting rule named after him after recruiting 37 players in one year, then crashed. Had a couple good years at Murray State twenty years ago and that's about it.

we probably wouldn't win any games, but we'd get on the cover of Sports Illustrated. It's all about the front porch...right?

Nutt went 4-7 in 93 and 5-6 in 94 at Murray State. During PJ's HC career. Only 2 seasons with under six wins. Nutt's had 7 seasons with under six wins per season. TS would be lucky to get an assistant job under any good coach or team for sure.

Because his best year in FBS / DIV 1-A was a 10-4 season with a loss in the Capital One bowl. His last year before he was FIRED was a 2-10 season...Does anyone actually look stuff up anymore? I heard him on the radio saying he has been trying to get back into coaching for the last five years yet not ONE program out 15-20 teams that has a vacancy every year has taken him but he is a good candidate here because he would not be as bad as Tyson Summers??? Probably more than just his mediocre record that is keeping from getting hired. Our fan base is obviously not immune to the SEC type idiocy where every hire has to be a name or make a splassshhhhhhaaaa.
