[“We’ve been working hard,” said 10th-year head coach Jeff Price. “Because of our guys doing a good job in individual workouts we’re a little further ahead. But obviously, the fact that we only get three weeks to prepare puts us in a bit of a bind but it puts everyone else in the same situation.”]

2. Frustration continues to mount for Eagles

[While the four losses have come against quality teams, the Eagles' wins have come against teams with less than sterling records. Austin Peay, Northeastern and Chattanooga have a combined record of 3-19. Of the remaining four games only Furman (6-2, 3-1) has a winning mark.]

3. ASU Notebook: Shotgun formation was hit and miss

[Kick coverage continued to be a trouble spot for Appalachian, but it did contain Georgia Southern on two final and crucial kicks in the closing moments Saturday. But Raja Andrews returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, and the Eagles had an 81-yard kickoff return wiped out by an illegal block in the fourth quarter. Andrews' return was the fourth kick (two punts, two kickoffs) returned for a touchdown against the Mountaineers this season.]

4. Jackson, Gatling make their choices

[The Bruins now have three Division I commitments on their roster with senior Briana Scott, who is headed to Georgia Southern, being the other.]
