1. Men’s Soccer Loses Final Non-Conference Match to Mercer 1-0

[“Mercer played well, and they got the goal,” said head coach Kevin Kennedy. They outworked us and outhustled us. I thought we did some good things, but finishing was poor. The finishing has to get better, and when it is not there we have to work harder.”]

2. Men’s Basketball Preseason Report No. 3

[ “We are obviously still early in the season and in the feeling-out process because we have so many new players,” said Price. “Our guys are working pretty hard, we just have to be more familiar with each other and that takes time.”]

3. Volleyball Dominates Savannah State

[“It was a good, well-rounded performance from all of our players tonight,” said GSU head coach Chad Callihan. “I was excited with the way they came out and set the tone early on. We talked about playing at a level and working to sustain it, regardless of what our opponent does or does not do. We wanted to play at our best level and I thought we did a good job of that.”]

4. The Anatomy of a Comeback

[Entering the 2008 season with a 143-22 record, historically the GSU program has been nearly untouchable at Paulson Stadium. But first Elon, then Wofford, then Appalachian State came into Statesboro and left with a win, leaving the question that echoes through the town on game days, "Whose house?" a bit less rhetorical each time.]

5. Steelers' return game stinks

[How about activating 5-foot-7 rookie return specialist Jayson Foster, whom the Steelers signed to their practice squad two weeks ago?]
