1. Eagles Return Home to Host Second-Place Elon

[Georgia Southern (21-19, 10-11 SoCon) returns home to host second-place Elon (22-21, 14-7 SoCon) in a three-game series at J.I. Clements Stadium. The series opens with a 6 p.m. first pitch on Friday and continues on Saturday with a 2:30 p.m. game and a 1:30 p.m. contest on Sunday.]

2. Georgia Southern Eagles Wait for Call This Weekend

[Everyone, at one time or another, has known what it feels like to wait for the phone to ring. Several Georgia Southern Football players hope to be getting calls from NFL teams this weekend and in the days to follow as their backyard dreams could become reality. Both J.J. Wilcox and Brent Russell are listed on the 2013 NFL Draft website as potential draft picks and Eagles Darius Eubanks and John Stevenson have fielded inquiries from NFL teams as well.]

3. Elon in town as Eagles try to shake losing streak

["We've obviously had our struggles offensively, and sometimes you can get consumed with that," Hennon said. "I think we've just got to focus on playing the game in every phase, every aspect. That's how we started the year. That was our focus then. We went out and did a pretty good job of executing. If we can get back to those things, the bigger things will take care of themselves."]

4. Draft Profile: Georgia Southern's J.J. Wilcox says 'I'm the best safety'

[“I think I’m the best safety in the draft,” Wilcox said. “Doing it in one year just shows you my determination, my hard work. I think I’m the best because I can contribute to a team immediately."]

5. Royals April 25th Minors Recap

[After Everett Teaford allowed two inherited runners to score, he and Francisley Buenocombined to throw 5.1 scoreless innings while striking out eight. However, the Cubs scored single runs in each of the final three innings.]

6. Wisconsin 7. West Michigan 4: The Timber Rattlers Notebook

["It kind of solidifies the middle of our lineup," Erickson said. "Giacalone brings a left handed bat, which aside from Sermo being a switch hitter we don't have a single left handed bat. So that helps us a bit, gives us some versatility in what we can do with the lineup and how we match up. Roache has obviously got plus power, and watching him take batting practice is impressive but obviously it's a little different in the game. If he can get himself in good counts and they have to attack the zone he can do some damage. So it'll be interesting to see how they progress along with the rest of this team."]

7. Today in Photoshop: Joker Phillips turns Florida opponents into ghosts in the game Pac-Man

[Wait, are there two LSU's? Yes. A purple and a blue one. I think the blue one is supposed to GSU for Georgia Southern, Florida's daunting nonconference opponent on Nov. 23. It is interesting that season-opening opponent Toledo and Phillips' old school Kentucky have been either eaten or spared in this Photoshop.]

8. New Mexico State Updates Future Football Schedules, Will Play at LSU in 2014

[As for LSU, the addition of New Mexico State certainly doesn’t help the strength of their 2014 schedule. The Tigers are already slated to host ULM on Sept. 6 and Georgia Southern on Sept. 13. GSU will be a member of the Sun Belt in 2014 after moving up from the FCS.]
