3. My Take: Top 5 moments in GSU sports (2012-13)

[All Purvis did was toss the first perfect game in school history. What’s better than tossing a perfect game? Tossing a perfect game in the NCAA tournament. Purvis did that against Hampton at the NCAA Gainesville, Fla., regional. It was her second perfect game of the season, the second in GSU history, and only the program’s second win in the NCAA tournament ever.]

4. 3 Pressing Questions: Broaddus Predicts Breakthrough Players

[If I had to pick out a player I would say, linebacker DeVonte Holloman has a good shot to help but I am going with safety J.J. Wilcox. There is a big physical side to his game. He is an emotional player that is always around the ball. He tackles well besides that, he has a little “Head Hunter” to his game. I believe that they will be able to teach him to be an effective blocker in the return game as well. In watching this kid play on tape and practice, you can tell that he really loves the game and to be good on special teams, you have to be that can of player.]

6. Phelan, Knox lead in the clubhouse at respective U.S. sectional tournaments

[Knox should feel secure that he's going to the U.S. Open next week at Merion. The Rockville sectional is taking the top-eight players and only two players left on the course, Aron Price of Jacksonville Beach and Bruce Woodall, are within five shots of Knox's lead. They have three holes to play.]
