Each day we strive to find article links involving Georgia Southern athletics and former Georgia Southern athletes. Should you find we missed an article link, please reply to help keep the Eagle Faithful informed:

1. Wolfes Tees it up at U.S. Amateur Monday

["It is a very tough test of golf," said Wolfes. "If you don't hit fairways and greens, you will shoot a high number."]

2. Ga. Southern scores new concussion prevention tool

["We get a reading as to how much force and how much acceleration occurred to the head. So we're able to identify injuries, hopefully, before they occur or as they occur in real time," says researcher Tom Buckley. "The average concussion in the NFL was at 98 Gs, so any impact that comes in above 98 Gs, our athletic training staff gets a warning."]

3. DONALD HEATH: Poll provides bragging rights, but what else?

[Being ranked in an FCS poll is probably a moot point for Georgia Southern and Appalachian State. People who leave their jobs at the start of the year don’t expect to be invited to the company Christmas party.]

4. Wilcox at home because of family illness, and Cowboys allowing him to take his time

[But he did say that Wilcox was improved over the first preseason game. “Better. A lot better. A lot better running on kickoffs,”Garrett said. “He looked more comfortable out there on defense. He was running to the football, tackled well, obviously he made that big play in the ballgame. He has very good instincts. He’s very aware of what’s going on as a player on the backend for a guy who hasn’t played that much safety in his life. He did that a lot in the spring. He made a lot of those same kinds of plays. He’s a good football player who is going to get better.”]

5. W2W4: Cowboys training camp: Day 15

[Who needs a good week: Let's start with safety J.J. Wilcox, who led the team with six tackles and one interception against the Raiders. We're not picking on Wilcox, because he's still learning how to play safety, but he needs better ball awareness.]

6. The 2013 Dallas Cowboys… After Two Games

[Did J.J. Wilcox’s bounce back game show that he learned from his abysmal first game or will he regress again next week? The play at safety, much like the offensive line, has the biggest opportunity to make or break this team’s aspirations in 2013.]

7. Getz and Colon homer in Omaha loss, Starling rests

[Everett Teaford, 4-4, allowed four runs on eight hits and three walks over six innings. Teaford struck out six and was done in by the River Cats’ three-run second inning. All three of Teaford’s walks came in that inning.]

8. Overtime

[In the opener, Augusta jumped out to a 4-0 lead. After loading the bases, Joseph Rapp singled to drive in Shawn Payne and Trevor Brown. Charles Jones singled, driving in Delfono and Andrew Cain was forced out but Rapp scored.]

9. Kernels 8, Cougars 4: Bad Defense, Good Defense

[The three earned Kernels runs came from a colossal three-run homer by Adam Walker, his 26th of the season. That total leads the Midwest League by a significant margin (next is Victor Roache of Wisconsin with 20; those are the only two hitters in the league with 20 or more).]

10. This Week in White Sox Minor League Baseball

[In transaction news, INF Carlos Sanchez was placed on the DL retroactive to Aug. 8, which suggests the injury is minor. RHP Chris Beck was promoted to Birmingham, where he had a good first start: 6 IP, 7 H, 1 BB, 5 K.]
