1. Eagles Miss on Last Second Shot, Fall to Elon

[“I thought our team gave a tremendous effort. We defended well, held them at 36 percent (shooting),” said head coach Jeff Price. “We had too many turnovers which turned out to be costly and I thought we got a little fatigued in the second half. I thought at the end of the game they looked like a team that had seniors and we looked like a team of freshmen... they (Elon) looked like the more experienced team down the stretch.”]

[Whittle also chose to stay in-state, choosing Georgia Southern over Jacksonville State and Georgia State. He said his recent talks with coaches from Western Michigan, who ultimately did not give him an offer, made him reflect on the importance of being close to home. Whittle’s signing gives Dublin five Division I signees for the year, which is fitting for a senior class that won four consecutive region titles and a state championship in 2006. “It says that even through middle school we came in here and worked, getting bigger, getting stronger and faster,” Whittle said. “It says a lot about our dedication as well as our natural ability.”]
