1. Eagles Travel to Furman, Wofford

[Georgia Southern Men’s Basketball travels to South Carolina for a pair of Southern Conference South Division games at Furman and Wofford. The Eagles begin the trip versus the Paladins on Thursday night (Feb. 12) at 7 p.m.]


2. Women’s Soccer Signs Eight for 2009 Season

[“We have a big class coming in, and it includes girls from all over the United States. Each player has played at a high level and has faced some of the top club teams in the country,” said head coach Ashley Hart. “They should be able to come in and help us compete right away.”]


3. Navarro takes over for Eagles

[“I was nervous at first,” Navarro said. “I was nervous of failing really and letting the team down. That’s really what went through my mind. But once I started playing, it was okay.”]


4. 2009 is a season of transition and expectations

[“Georgia Southern had an outstanding season last year,” Coach Maggie Johnson stated. “We are fortunate to return so many of our top performers.”]


5. Forest Park Struggles to Cope With Internal Problems in Win

[In addition to team problems, the Bruins have played without Georgia Southern recruit Briana Scott for about three weeks. Scott, a 6-foot-1 center, had been the team's best low-post player. She is expected to be back in the next few weeks from a broken thumb.]
