1. Eagles Improve to 10-2 with Doubleheader Sweep

["It was a good team effort all day long," Head Coach Rodney Hennon said. When you have to play a doubleheader you are going to need contributions from a lot of different guys. We were able to get that today both from the pitching staff and from our position players."]

2. Women's Tennis Drops 3-4 to UNCG

[Georgia Southern women's tennis played a close match with UNC Greensboro, but the Spartans took the victory, 4-3. The Eagles' record drops to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in the SoCon.]

3. Track & Field Finishes Third in Overall Standings at Indoor Championships

[Georgia Southern Track and Field posted 119 points, the fourth-highest point total scored in its history at the SoCon Indoor Championships, but was nudged out of second place on the second day of competition. The Eagle 4x400m Relay team captured its title in the final event of the meet, but score adjustments in an earlier event moved Appalachian State to the runner up spot with 120.5 points. Western Carolina won its second-straight title with 132 points.]

4. Men's Tennis Earns a Victory Over Wofford, 4-3

[Georgia Southern men's tennis earned a 4-3 victory today in their match against the Wofford Terriers. The Eagles improve their record to 2-9 overall, and 1-1 in the SoCon. Wofford's record drops to 5-6 overall and 0-1 in conference.]

5. Furman Downs Women's Basketball 78-68

[Brittany Hodges tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Furman shot 55 percent for the game as the Paladins topped Georgia Southern 78-68 in Southern Conference women's basketball action Sunday afternoon in Timmons Arena.]

6. GS Softball Wins Eagle Classic With 3-0 Victory Over Tennessee St.

["It was a good weekend for us to get the tournament win," said Head Coach Annie Smith. We played good defense, had some timely hitting and we did some good things in the pitching circle. I was happy that everyone contributed to the team victories."]

7. Chicago White Sox Top 20 Prospects for 2014

[9) Chris Beck, RHP, Grade C+: I really don’t like the poor strikeout rate (just 57 whiffs in 119 innings in High-A) which disturbingly confirms reports of stuff slippage compared to his sophomore year of college. However, he pitched better late in the year after moving up to Double-A, with a higher strikeout rate (22 in 28 innings) and good pitching in Southern League playoffs. At this point I can see him as a plausible fourth starter or relief option.]

8. Draft’s top workout winners (and losers)

[Georgia Southern RB Jerick McKinnon. He’s only 5-8, but is a fireplug at 209 pounds and posted some of the best numbers among running backs in the 40 (4.41), the bench press (32 reps), broad jump (11-0) and vertical jump (40½ inches).]

9. 2014 Houston Texans Mock Draft: Updated picks for each round

[Arian Foster is one of the top running backs in the NFL, but losing Ben Tate to free agency will hurt the depth, especially if injuries hit the position. Jerick McKinnon of Georgia Southern is an impressive back with the skills to help on third downs and after his showing at the Combine, Houston could find the help they need with this youngster in the middle rounds of the Draft.]
