1. Late Home Runs Hurt Eagles in Loss at Winthrop

[Winthrop broke open a pitchers dual hitting three home runs, handing Georgia Southern a 5-2 loss Wednesday night (March 18). The Eagles, winners of 10 of their last 11 heading in, dropped to 14-3 overall.]

4. Hyter Named Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Month

[Lynndsey Hyter (Dallas, Texas) was honored by the Southern Conference for her performance during the month of February. Hyter was named the SoCon Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Month Wednesday.]

6. Blondell Earns SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week Accolades

[Sophomore Eagle golfer Logan Blondell has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all sporting events played from March 11-17, as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon. Blondell is the first Eagle to be named Student-Athlete of the Week for Georgia Southern for the 2008-09 academic year.]

7. Fresh off win, Eagles ready for Schenkel

8. Winthrop ends skid on first game back at home

9. RiverDogs Offer "Bailout" to Promotion Schedule

[Chris Walker – OF. BACKGROUND: An outfielder from Georgia Southern in the ’02 draft class, he had some of the best speed in the Cubs’ system and was never a liability with the bat, either. He earned an invite to big league spring training in 2007 and worked his way up to Triple-A later that year before he was released the following spring. WHERE HE IS NOW: Was scooped up by the Angels following his release by the Cubs last year and was assigned to their Triple-A team. He signed a minor league contract with Philadelphia in the off-season.]

14. District Changes Keep On Coming

[Bartow High junior golfer Drew Guffey verbally committed to Georgia Southern University to play there on a golf scholarship. Guffey was a first-team All-County selection in the fall after helping lead the Yellow Jackets to a runner-up finish in the district and a regional tournament appearance.]
