If I block a certain idiot poster, does that mean he can't see what I say, or does it mean I just don't have to see his drivel?

It blocks you from seeing that person's post, but I believe that person can still see your posts.

Also if someone quotes your blocked individual, you still see it.

Thanks, so there is really no way to avoid him completely

I’m sorry my posts have become so irritating. I will try to be more positive.

lol. My Mom used to say that the wrong child hears every piece of criticism or advice...the one who doesn't need it!

You should see a doctor.

One that specializes in eyes.

Can you administer the blocking feature on mobile or only desktop version?

If so, how?

All this is funny to me!! Blocking people on a message board. What's the fun in that. I believe that the vast majority of people on here are strongly supportive of our school and athletics, but most have opinions that are different from each other and not always supportive of everything the school does. Nothing wrong with that. I also would say that if you are a "rubber stamp" for the school then a message board might not be the place for you.

I do not think it’s the opinions themselves, but the way they are presented.

Every public forum where identities are disguised will produce trolls, people who enjoy provoking other people just for the fun of it. Almost by definition, a troll doesn't really have anything interesting to say, they are just seeking attention. Blocking them is the ideal response.

Unlike Facebook, where blocking a user prevents any post from showing up on your feed, blocking a poster on Gsufans will produce a notification each time the person posts, saying a post has been blocked. You are given the option of viewing the post if you want to.

Yes, along with the unfounded personal digs.

I used to think you'd eliminate that by making people put their real names, but the Facebook group just rips that theory up.
