Each day we strive to find article links involving Georgia Southern athletics and former Georgia Southern athletes. Should you find we missed an article link, please reply to help keep the Eagle Faithful informed:

1. Mainers find groove, win four straight to get back over .500

[They had loaded the bases after the first two batters were retired by Mainer starter Colin Snow, setting the stage for a 3-run error on a ball hit by Tim Quinn.]

2. Pilots defeat Generals 6-5

[Logan Robbins was 2-for-3 for the Pilots, scoring two runs, and Tony Chisman earned his seventh save.]

3. Lamb makes All-Star team

[Lamb (Clemson) and fellow outfielder Billy Barber (University of Richmond) will play for the National team. Shortstop Jake McAloose (Old Dominion) and closer Tony Chisman (Georgia Southern) will compete for the American squad. Chisman has yielded one run in 15 2/3 innings while saving six games; Lamb leads Peninsula with 21 stolen bases in 23 attempts and is hitting .295; Barber has driven in a Pilots-best 25 runs; McAloose is a defensive presence at either shortstop or third base.]

4. CFL notebook

[Montreal Alouettes defensive tackle Jeff Robertshaw and linebacker John Mohring, both out with shoulder injuries, have been placed on the nine-game injured list.]

5. Adams, former Dalton resident, gains ground on Nationwide Tour

[It’s the third top 10 finish in a tourney this season for Adams, who moved from 20th to seventh on the tour’s money list. The top 25 players in that category at the end of the season earn spots on next year’s PGA Tour.]

6. Rocks Drop Their Third Straight At Home To Myrtle Beach

[Adrian Ortiz followed with a single to right that scored Eigsti thanks to a timely miscue by right fielder Chris Shehan. The Myrtle Beach outfielder attempted to throw behind Ortiz, who had taken a wide turn of first. His toss tailed away from first baseman Ernesto Mejia, which gave Eigsti time to circle home and tie the game.]
