[The Georgia Southern volleyball team hits the road for a match-up against Charleston Southern on Wednesday (September 16) before closing out its fall tournament schedule at the Wingate Inn Classic over the weekend. Going 2-1 over the weekend at the Bash in the ‘Boro presented by Verizon Wireless, the Eagles stand at 6-4 on the season heading into this week’s action.]


2. Sanford Named SoCon Player of the Week

[For the second time in three weeks, sophomore Bethany Sanford has been selected as the Southern Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The outside hitter nailed 59 kills in three matches of the Bash in the ‘Boro presented by Verizon Wireless to earn the conference honor for the week of September 14.]


3. Georgia Southern wins Springhill golf tournament

[Paced by Florian Sander’s 3-under-par 69, Georgia Southern University rallied from five strokes down during the final round Tuesday to win the team title at the Springhill Suites Intercollegiate Golf Tournament.]


4. WCU, GSU aim to jump-start young offense
