Each day we strive to find article links involving Georgia Southern athletics and former Georgia Southern athletes. Should you find we missed an article link, please reply to help keep the Eagle Faithful informed:

1. Eagles Travel to Wofford This Saturday

[When Georgia Southern Football travels to Wofford this Saturday (Oct. 3) for a Southern Conference showdown, the Eagles will be looking for their first road win of 2009. Kickoff at Gibbs Stadium is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.]

2. Pasco, Eagle D ready for Wofford

[The Eagle defense is much improved, and Pasco said it can and will get better. "We've got a lot of young guys, especially Darious Eubanks, who have come in and are playing with a lot of maturity," said Pasco. "It makes me proud to see the way they're playing. Once we eliminate half our mistakes we're not going to let a lot of people score."]

3. Eagles, Terriers look for offensive spark

[“We played like the weather,” Hatcher said. “It was a miserable day as far as the weather was concerned, and it was a miserable day for our football team. Offensively, we’ve got to find a way to get into a rhythm, or we’ll have another long day against Wofford.”]

4. Wofford's Richardson more than just a famous name

[They’ll try to even up their Southern Conference record at 1:30 p.m. Saturday against Georgia Southern during homecoming at Gibbs Stadium. “The guys have been bothered by the loss,” Johnson said. “We want to come back and show that we’re good, that we’re not the team that played last Saturday. Maybe it was a wake-up call. We can’t just show up and give a lackadaisical effort. From here on out, I expect the team to be more focused.”]

5. Ron Turner admits short-yardage mistake

["The third one, short yardage, honestly he shouldn't have been in there," Turner said. "We get in a short-yardage situation, that's usually Matt and [Adrian Peterson] in there running that. That was an error on our part, on my part. Should have had one of those guys in there."]

6. What they said: Michael Sim

[MARK WILLIAMS: One more question. Having not played for a few weeks now and your schedule over the next few weeks, how closely are you watching the Nationwide Tour Money List? I've seen your fluctuation. I know Blake Adams has made a little move on you. How closely are you paying attention to that? MICHAEL SIM: Yeah. I have looked at it a little bit. Blake's had a good little run there. He obviously hasn't won yet. He's almost up to 400,000, so he's had a tremendous season from conditional status. I think I played with him at the BMW in the final round, and he was telling me he had conditional status and pretty much played his way into the remainder of the year. So there's obviously two big events coming up, there's the Soboba event this week, million dollar purse, and obviously the Tour Championship, too. And there's two guys there, Chris Tidland, Tom Gillis and Blake. They've definitely got a chance to pass me.]

7. Big purse on offer at Soboba Springs

[With no previous history on this course as an indication those in form provide the best guide and the leading money winners in the field such as Blake Adams, Chris Tidland, Garrett Willis, Tom Gillis and Henrik Bjornstad are good chances in that regard.]

8. Fall Series underway at Turning Stone

[Other Australians with a start include brilliant rookie Marc Leishman, Canadian Open champion, Nathan Green, Mathew Goggin, Rod Pampling, Aaron Baddeley, Stuart Appleby, Nick O’Hern, Greg Chalmers, Steve Elkington, James Nitties, Peter Lonard, Jarrod Lyle and Aron Price.]
