  1. Re: Ragin Cajun Players asked to Donate $50.00

Re: Not Cocaine; What DO we do?

I mean, why do they even LET small towns have cops? Right?

We should just get rid of small towns altogether.

    Re: Shai is back.

I don’t disagree that this may be the reason he wasn’t charged, but it’s still information for consideration by a judge in contemplating dismissal, just like non- sworn statements from his family.

    Re: Shai is back.

That seems like the least likely scenario of all. I believe that in the moment, given the circumstances of the encounter, the ‘evade/dump’ scenario seemed valid enough to the cops on the at the time...

    Re: Shai is back.

Probably would have to have a motion from the defense whereupon the judge would consider whether there was sufficient exculpatory evidence. As it stands, on the one hand you’ve got a suspect who...

    Re: Shai is back.

Random observation: it’s not clear from the SMN report whether the police said anything about “cocaine” before Shai said he didn’t have any reason to lie about “cocaine”.

    “What’s this?”

This case may go down in the annals of South Carolina legal history as establishing the “Donnie’s Ashes” basis for probable cause.

Did you just Bogart my Theodore Donald Kerabotsos reference?

    Re: Shai is back.

That’s an argument for the accused to make as to why it’s not his, it’s not an argument as to why it’s a violation of 4th amendment rights for the officer to collect it as evidence.

    I think it...
