1. The "Who will return for baseball next year" thread

I'm guessing this is the tweet and article 1peat was referencing in another thread about Mason McWhorter and Steven Curry.

“The boys were...
2. Re: CSN conference mate preference poll for the Sun Belt and CUSA

Good. There's a lot more to made from CFP money (especially when the CFP expands again) from having a good football league than there is to be saved by substituting trips to Arkansas and Louisiana...
3. CSN conference mate preference poll for the Sun Belt and CUSA

Just some off-season discussion fodder. There's been discussion for a long time on CSN about how (if at all) to reorganize the current membership of the Sun Belt and CUSA. The owner of the CSN...

Re: Calvin Wishart enters the transfer portal

What's your thoughts on this, BTW? In spite of what some people here will say, I think getting taller will inevitably mean being less athletic. Not as fun to watch IMO, but that's fine if we win,...

Re: Calvin Wishart enters the transfer portal

If we fail to hold onto Calvin, Quan, and Byrd (the freshman guard we signed) I fear Burg may not have passed his first test as a recruiter. I don't think I can say for sure because you're always...

Re: Calvin Wishart enters the transfer portal

Yeah, I love Quan, but if you're a slasher guard like him you need to shoot free throws better to play in the SEC or ACC.

Re: Calvin Wishart enters the transfer portal

My guess is Calvin either returns or ends up some place closer to home. Quan did in fact graduate apparently so I guess he'll end up at JMU. We're going to find out real quick like what to expect...

Re: will their be a 2020 football season???? ;-(

I cannot imagine having brick-and-mortar schools doing online instruction all the way through the fall. It may not be hard for some faculty to transition to online learning but for others it's very...

Re: NCAA Decision....

Translation: We don't want teams like Dayton to come back next season and get in the way of the big boys that will lose their one-and-dones. Chicken **** move to not allow the NCAA tournament...

I wouldn't rule out the freshman guard from Covington contributing next season, either.

Re: Calvin Wishart enters the transfer portal

He's from Minnesota. Not unusual for guys from that far from where they play to leave when the coach that recruited them leaves.
13. Re: Health Care Worker / First Responder Appreciation Day?

It means they have not had any false negatives (i.e. anyone who has the infection and the test says they don't).
14. Re: Health Care Worker / First Responder Appreciation Day?

I doubt that.
Here's ballpark numbers for Georgia Southern.

We get around $500k as our share of the Sun Belt TV agreement.
We get over a million per school from the Sun Belt's share of CFP...

Re: Basketball Coaching Search Thread

On paper both Willie Fritz and Chris Hatcher would be better, and some could bring up BVG as the only HC of ours who came in with experience at the professional level.

Then there's CY who...

Re: Basketball Coaching Search Thread

No.

In basketball, maybe. CY was also a P5 assistant, though he didn't work under a coach as good as Chris Beard (for whatever that's worth).

Re: Basketball Coaching Search Thread

I'd prefer Figger and wouldn't mind having a Chris Beard assistant. No thanks on the first two.
18. Health Care Worker / First Responder Appreciation Day?

Any chance we could get a social media campaign going for athletics marketing to set up a home football game for appreciation of health care workers and first responders within the alumni base and...

Re: Will the Sun Belt be next

Do people think Monken was also "call the play and pray" guy, or does that standard only apply to non-flex option coaches?

Re: Basketball Coaching Search Thread

My choices based on names brought up. Most of the rest (IMO) are either not realistic or not good choices.

A tier:
Pat Kelsey (Winthrop)
Josh Schertz (Lincoln Memorial)
LeVelle Moton (NCCU)...

Re: Academic Standards

Notice the words "to be considered". Schools are never going discourage applicants because they never know when they'll need them. That's one reason why things like Princeton Review and Yahoo...

Re: Basketball Coaching Search Thread

Schertz's bio looks really impressive (Lincoln Memorial in Tennessee).
McCray is the only of the 3 assistants I'd even consider, honestly.
