Thread: GSU FAMILY

  1. Talking GSU FAMILY

    Hello everyone,

This is Aaron Webb (E.J.'s dad) I just wanted to come on and thank everyone and let them know how much my wife (Vickie) and I appreciate all the great times we've had as being adopted GSU family members. lol Saturday was a great/sad day, great bcz we where able to get that big WIN and sad bcz it was the end of a 4 year not miss a game era. We've loved every lllllloooooooooonnnnnnnngggggggg drive to Statesboro for games since 07 and I'm sure I'll be going thru withdrawls next year when I'm not at every GSU game (I do plan on making at least 3 home games and the Elon game) my wife may have to send me to rehab. on the other Saturday's I'm not there. But seriouly I want to thank you all for all the kind words that where spoken to us Saturday about our son. People where coming up telling us how good of a young man our son is and we thank GOD everyday for w/o him we know we couldn't have raised a better child. It's always good to know that he conducted himself as a respectable young man and always showed respect to his elders while at GSU. To know that he represented your GSU, himself and his family in a good way is always pleasing. And about that game...... Man what a WIN!!! I know GSU isn't where they use to be but I can tell you it won't be long before another flag will be flying from that pole. If my son could play 4 more years under this current staff I'd sign him up right now, I probably couldn't have paid him to do that at the end of last year. But he luv's the new staff and has said, "dad they give us a chance to win every week". I know on Saturday Appy had more depth and probably more talent from top to bottom but we came out and played w/a whole lot of heart. And after the game the first person I thanked was Coach Melton. In 08 appy physically whipped our tails then just broke out spirit. Of course coach Melton deflected the praise and said the kids played w/heart and just wanted the game. But man what he did w/them in the spring and summer is what gave them what they needed to go w/that heart and be able to excute what coach Monken and Pry have been drilling in them. But I've said my lil piece and just really want you all to know.... GSU FANS are the BEST!!!!!

What a great post. Thanks for being a loyal fan these past years (and hopefully many more).

E.J. is a hell of a football player and we're gonna miss him along with the other seniors. I'm glad his last game in Paulson stadium was so special.

We will def miss that fine young man...on the field and off.....please don't look at this as an ending, you are all members of our family and WHEN you come back to the next GSU game, please come hang with our tailgate - the Red Flag Gang - you will not leave hungry...God bless you all and thanks for all you've given to GSU.

EJ's been a fine player and from everything I've ever heard is a outstanding young man. He'll be missed next year for sure.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves ... EJ's got two more opportunities to put that Blue Helmet with the White Stripe on and GATA! Look forward to watching him have another outstanding game in Cullowhee this Saturday.

We are indeed lucky to have Coach Melton on our staff. He knows his stuff.

I have enjoyed watching EJ on the team. He has been through a lot during his 4 years with all of the changes. It tells you a lot about the character of someone who stuck around during this period He is a valuable member of our team and I look forward to see how they do the rest of the season.

I wish him well after his GSU playing days are over.

    Mr. Webb,

You, EJ and your entire family will always be Eagles and a part of the Eagle Nation. Many thanks to all of you for your contributions to the program. EJ will be sorely missed. With all he's gone through since he came here, no one fits BIG TEAM little me philosophy that Erk instilled here. EJ is all Eagle, and he did it with class. Thank you from the whole Eagle Nation.

My sentiments exactly DC. The seniors on this team have seen the darkest days this program has seen, but they endured and stayed True Blue. Mr. Webb, please give your son our sincerest thanks for his efforts and let him know just how proud of him we are.
