The funny thing to me is anyone that knows sports know that you don't win in college with freshmen playing more minutes that upperclassmen. Getting "blue" chip recruit don't mean jack their freshman year.

Has a basketball thread ever generated so much interest in the off season?

It does not take a McDonald's All American one and done to win or dominate the SoCon. Stephen Curry was only a 3 star recruit. Kevin Martin was unranked. I wish I was that bad at my job and got paid like recruiting analysts.

[QUOTE=half-n-half;276075]My argument is that it's possible to win with freshmen. It's really that simple.

I'm not saying that it's easy to win with freshmen. I'm not saying that our freshmen should be in the Final Four. I'm not saying that our freshmen are as good as UK's freshmen.

I'm simply saying that it's possible to win with freshmen. Anybody that wants to argue against that is simply wrong.[/QUOTE nd's icehockey team is advancing to d1 final four with 12 freshman on their team and 9 of those seeing lots of icetime, if your real good it dont matter what class your in.

Oh by the way Kentucky lost 5 starters to the NBA's 1st round last year. Who says you need experience to win?

    Whoops.

Wow!! You just don't get it!!! Freshman played more minutes than upperclassman this year. Can you win in this situation? Yes you can but that would be the exception rather than the rule. How many teams in the country wins with more minutes for freshman vs upperclassmen. Kentucky is the exception!!! How many teams in the NCAA? How many win with freshman playing more minutes than upperclassmen?? I will wait for the the results you come up with!!!

    Melo - Syracuse
Kentucky had 2 one and dones last year and also lost the other 3 starters
Sullenger - would Ohio St been the #1 seed w/o him? No way
Okafor - I think he was a one and done that led Uconn to the title. Yes he had help from Ben Gordon.
Rose - lost title game probation would have stripped the title anyway
Mayo - carried USC on his back
    Beasley - carried Kansas State

Want something further back? Michigan St went to Elite 8 and won championship game with Magic. 12-15 before Magic and 12-15 after Magic. Needless to say he single handily carried that team.
Fab 5 had 2 title game losses with 4 of the top 10 freshman in the country.
