Sure you read that right? I do understand it could have very well happened that someone said "Idaho" when they meant "NMSU"

NMSU is ranked #1 in SBC and has not given up a single sack this year. (6 games, 0 sacks)

Idaho is ranked dead last in the SBC BY A LOT and has given up a lot of sacks. (5 games, 27 sacks)

The next closes is Ark State with 15 sacks allowed.

I must have read it wrong. It was talking about fast passing, which NMSU did.

Wow, we look good on paper...I'll say that.

Two interesting stats that stuck out:

We are dead last in first downs given up to opponents, but we are also the best red zone defense.

I use the stats at teamrankings.com I've been keeping up with our stats weekly on that site. I also like how it automatically compares you to your next opponent and gives you an idea how you we should fare, statistically anyway. If anyone is interested, here's the link to the overview for us: http://www.teamrankings.com/college-...es/projections

    Some other interesting stats:
-27th in YPA on pass defense at 6.2
    -10th in interceptions at 9
-37th in opponents passer rating at 114.6

Those numbers don't point to a horrible pass defense. The only "bad" pass defense stats I can find is 68th in YPG at 237.7, and 56th in opponent completion percentage at 57.2. Still, those are nowhere near horrible numbers

Actually tied for 4th in interceptions. Bottom line, I don't think even the most optimistic among us envisioned this kind of start. Now if we can stay healthy

I hope Idahos OL isn't as good as they were in 1990. They were very good then. Best I ever faced. Be hard for them to match that one.

They've given up almost 30 sacks in 5 games, so I doubt it.
