I don't think the flexbone would be beneficial. An Oregon/Clemson style offense is what we need. It gives you a chance to get QBs and WRs that might generally shy away from a traditional TO offense.

That would be very bad, unless of course you enjoy offensive incompetence when all the variables aren't in your favor.

Honestly if there is even a shred of truth of him being interested in a job in a talentless state like Iowa what other really good G5 or any P5 wouldn't he leave for.
It's not impossible. There are a lot of attractive G5 candidates this year…

    1. Tom Herman at Houston
    2. Justin Fuente at Memphis
    3. Dino Babers at Bowling Green
    4. Matt Campbell at Toledo
    5. Doc Holiday at Marshall
    6. Matt Rhule at Temple

And not all of the openings will be filled by head coaches.
Don't choose to be annoyed. Choose to be amused.

If you think TK is the reason we don't have better non-conference football schedules, see this post.

Of that list only Bowling Green and Toledo are the only ones that do not pay over 200K more than us. Memphis and Houston pay 1.4M if those coaches go we should worry about some of those job openings as well.

The CSU coach also has tangible proof of going 3-7 at a DII school and quitting.

Had a feeling this was coming. Iowa State is an ok job, not a great one, not completely hopeless either. Obviously they can pay Fritz more money than we can, that's just what it is. Good luck to him if he does go. As far as a replacement goes there are a few options.

    Hire internally:
    -Dell McGee
    -Doug Ruse
    -Jack Curtis

Get someone off the Triple Option Coaching Tree:
    -Ivin Jasper, Navy OC
    -Brian Bohannon, Kennesaw St HC
    -Bryan Cook, GT OC
-Paul Johnson (long shot, only if GT fires him)

    Up-and-coming coach:
    -Mike Houston, Citadel HC
    -Jamey Chadwell, Charleston Southern HC
    -Russ Huesman, UTC HC
    -Rhett Lashlee, Auburn OC
    -Scott Frost, Oregon OC
    -Tim Horton, Auburn RB Coach

and so would you if you were offered an FCS job over a DIVII job. Was he supposed to stay? I am pretty sure coaches put their careers and especially what is best for their families over all the hokey loyalty crap that gets spewed on message boards. Guess what any coach we get after Fritz gets offered triple the salary or just about any P5 job and they are gone the after one year as well. Fritz would have left last year for any job he takes after this whether that is this year or three years from now.

As of last week, Memphis and Houston pay a lot more than 1.4. Fuente and Herman got paid. I still don't think it is enough to keep them around.
