Agreed. Lots of talent, new coach, I could see us anywhere from 6-6 to 11-1

Last year #21 nationally in total defense, and just maybe this years defense will be better. If the new kids in the secondary can be gamers, LOOK OUT, I'm expecting great things out of our LB's.

Our front 7 will have to step up. Last year it was the secondary bailing them out, because we really failed to have any disruption up front. Adjusted against our opponents, we actually had one of the better secondaries in the country in causing havoc....our front 7 was one of the worst though (few TFL's, sacks, hurries, etc). The secondary might take some time to get going this year, so we'll need the guys up front to take pressure off of them and cause QB's to make bad decisions.

Does that take into account that we had one of the easiest strength of schedules in the country? Not saying we weren't good on that side of the ball, but I think that's skewed a little since we played some of the worst fbs offenses.

So weird to see this stat...

Tyson Summers (0-0, entering first season; 0-0 overall)

Literally, the beginning of an era. I hope he brings it!

I think in terms of pass rush, yes we definitely have room for improvement. With respect to defending the run, I can't give you any figures, but I felt like we held our own.
