Did not know if it had been posted about George Smith of Columbia,SC passing away Monday. He was an Eagle through and through. He was the guy that did the
"Georgia Southern is Back" sign on College Gameday when they were in Columbia a few years ago.He will be missed.

George ran with us red flaggers for awhile. We all got copies of that photo, lol, mine's around here somehere... also had a thing for Painted Buntings. Good guy, he missed most of our games last few years due to health issues but we kept in touch on FB. Gonna miss him.

Indeed... real good guy. Mrs. Blueballs and I are sad to hear this and pass along prayers and sympathies.

Heart wrenching. A very jovial, fun-loving guy. I lost touch with George but had some wonderful memories brought back just seeing his name in this thread. He had a national championship ring (or a replica) and he wore that thing with so much pride.... Sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family.

George was a terrific guy. No doubt he was a huge fan of all things Georgia Southern and a great ambassador for our university. He will be missed.
