Our current one wouldn't exist anymore in that scenario. Perhaps it could be turned into an indoor facility

Source of disdain for fans and recruits. This is just some Sun Belt examples which will never be confused with a basketball conference.

Shield your eyes, dont look. Come on man, we are GS, simple uniforms, yellow bus and a dump of an arena. In its day, GREAT but its not its day anymore.

if they're coming here to play basketball, i'd imagine the arena would very much factor into their decision.

Short answer: yes they do. GS hold open house in Hanner and a bunch of other schools use their facilities for the same. Imagine trying to decide between going to Troy and GS and each school hosts you in their basketball stadium for open house. Which one is more impressive?

and I can 100% guarantee that it makes a huge difference to recruits.

Its from the 60's. It's okay to have a soft spot for the place but this isn't the Georgia Southern or the Statesboro of that time. We are harder, better, faster, and stronger now. We have different needs and Hanner does not meet them.

But most students and considering all their facilities are better than ours, I say a lot.

They have a nice arena but their football stadium felt high school af.

I can buy recruits, but that's not what the guy posted, whoever he was. He said students.

I like Hanner. We should be capitalizing on its history and architecture rather than throwing it in the trash.
