A warm body on the recruiting trail would be a good option right now.

Atkins has a good gig at Tulane. It ain't leaving for the GS drama.

Just said that, ton to lose for him without a huge pay day and a multi year deal and Fritz might land a better job one more step up the ladder and his OL pay will be likely more than our OC pay. Nothing but upside for a guy like Barrett or Chestnutt though.

I was told Sloan it was Sloan, I was told Cabral was coming he did, I was told Ware and it looks iffy at best then I heard Atkins was in the lead and who knows now.

Georgia Southern: Matt Greenhalgh, the assistant director of strength and conditioning at Appalachian State, is heading to Georgia Southern as the head strength coach for the football program, per source.

Why would most college football coaches contracts end on December 21st? I am not disputing it as I have no idea what is standard (we know the GA BOR prefers a February end date on contracts now from the lawsuit discussions), but December 21st is an odd date for other schools to have as the contract end date. The playoffs are under way for FCS and other divisions and it is in the middle of bowl season for FBS coaches. It seems counter intuitive to me for the end date to occur before the end of the complete season including bowls, otherwise you technically could end up without a coaching staff under contract for a bowl game.

If CL and TK were asking for my advice(and they are not) I would tell them to leave Atkins alone and hire someone that really wants to be here. Hiring too many "buddies" is not a good thing either. Also told yesterday that the OC would be announced in a "day or two". Tomorrow will be day 2 FWIW.
