I think the idea is to pay FBS-level money to an FBS-level coach.

Just because you read two contradicting opinions on this board that does not mean everyone shares both opinions.

it was an absolutely stupid contract orchestrated by a Kent State AD. Chad Lunsford would have been ecstatic with the opportunity as head coach for two seasons guaranteed at $375,000 a year with big time incentive bonuses. To give a sun belt position coach who is 2-3 as an interim HC a four year contract at $650k base guaranteed just shows you what a moron we have as AD.

And we still have to settle the coaching lawsuit this bozo created along with his yes men.

Why all the hate on the contract? This is a good thing. If he's a great coach he will earn it. If he's not, he will be let go and the bar will habe been set to spend >= 650k/yr on the next coach. We now know that the President is willing to spend money... this is a good thing. Either way we are on our way to the 1M mark eventually and this is just another step in that direction. Good for CCL stepping into his new tax bracket... don't hate, congratulate. Y'all act like you're paying his salary. The school isn't going broke any time soon.
