I'm just as guilty as anyone, but this is the main problem I see with gsufans. Lack of real information. Someone asks a 100% sports-related question, and everyone runs for the hills. But if you want to get a ton of attention, just get subjective and emotional, fire-up and pee on (can't say pi$$ off, but you can say pee on) others, and BOOM! you got a 100 page+ long thread.

I personally find most sports fans to be very illiterate when it comes to actual, precise, sports-knowledge. Even so-called true, passionate fans, for the most part stumble through any factual conversation about their team. It becomes very hard to get a straight answer.

Someone on here knows the answer to the question, but because it isn't emotionally-charged the topic is non-sexy. I can get more information on TK's twitter usage than find out about truly substantive topics.

Where does one go to communicate with authentic sports-minded individuals, particularly when it comes to Georgia Southern sports?
In Zeze's case, if a kid hasn't signed, it's a violation for the school to say anything.

PWO information I would imagine would come out later. I don't recall seeing that during signing day in the past or for any other schools.

Other than that, the reason people might not be saying anything about it is because they do not know. That was a lot of words for you to basically complain about a fan message board where people talk about what they want to talk about while you're talking about how they don't talk about the things you want to talk about. I will say, there is a lot more constructive discussion that happens behind the pay wall and some of the stuff you're looking for might just be there and in a venue that's a lot more reasonable.

This site is the biggest gathering on the internet of people that talk about Georgia Southern. You won't find somewhere better.

Also, for PWOs unless they are a specialist you probably won't get an announcement, because they are not bound by anything to show up to campus. They don't sign an NLI which binds them with a scholarship. They sign some kind lf ceremonial commitment letter. If someone were to offer them a scholarship after NSD they have all right to take it and bail on the PWO offer they accepted. At least thats how it was explained to me.

I believe this is accurate. Nothing really binds them to the team until fall semester starts and they enroll (summer may count too). Once they join the team in that manner, they are bound by normal transfer rules and all that.

^This. And even if they are a specialist you wonít get an announcement. Preferred Walkons donít sign any kind of binding document and therefore the school they are committed to canít say anything about them. There is nothing that legally binds is to the PWOís or binds them to us. Thatís also how you can tell if a player is on scholarship or not. If heís announced on signing day then heís on scholarship.

I remember a few years ago at the coaches caravan somebody asked Monken about a local kid that was going to be a PWO and even in that setting Monken said he couldnít talk about it because it was an NCAA violation for him to do so.

Letís be honest. People on this site deliver a lot of info. If you want the good stuff, then you pay and gain access to the Nest. The recruiting info is much better there.

But, the PWO info has always been hit or miss even when the recruiting data was in the public forum.

I was wondering about Chase Walker as well, but that stuff is tenuous at best. If dude gets a good offer from an FCS or D2, then we could lose him anyway. PWO are never to be counted on, even at GS where we have a great legacy with such.

As for Jallah, I think it has been a given that he was probably not signing. I think he had decommitted months ago.

A preferred walk on normally joins the team for the late summer work outs and the fall practices. Also, they are guaranteed a spot on the 105 man roster. Even though PWO's have to pay their own tuition they are housed with the team and are entitled to the same service as a scholarship player. (free equipment, Training services, academic support, coaching and other team functions). They should be treated as any other player on the 105 man roster.
