That's right! All the other stuff will ring hollow if we don't win. It's fun and refreshing now, but September is when we find out.

That's where I got that from. I believe it was his last coach's show.

This^ perfectly describes CCL. Putting people in places to lead and succeed while micro-managing attitudes.

i think that describes all good coaches on all levels. The key word being intensity.

A key player once told me that Monken taught the guys how to love Georgia Southern and how important it was to play with that intensity to represent Georgia Southern. But Fritz told them how to be football players. He said Fritz's attention to detail and fundamentals was what took them to the next level as football players. His fear was that the players that were coming in wouldn't have that mix. To think now that the head coach was mentored by both of those guys is really exciting.

    Maintaining that intensity is key.

    Bill Belichick comes to mind.

Belichick has intensity for sure, and he also has that attention to detail. Studenteagle was right. A coach needs both.

TS made terrible hires, probably because he did not have analytic-type intelligence and therefore couldn't spot it in other potential coaches. CL is a different cat, judging by what comes out of his mouth and judging by his coaching hires.

I hope our players learn not only to GATA again, like under Monken, but also feel like they are getting taught good technique again, like under Fritz. I suspect that is going to happen.

The good vibe is that CL has had plenty of experience under both Monken and Fritz.
