This is pretty crappy not to announce until after teams are finishing up spring practice.
I wish they would've just adopted the high school touchback rule, this seems extreme. Kickers will have to get real good at dropping at the 5 with good loft, so returners think they have a chance. Might as well place it at the 25 and ditch kickoffs all together
we’re slowly progressing toward non contact flag football.
The possibility of an onside kick is the only reason they haven't already done away with kickoffs entirely

I think they're concerned about people having space to pick up speed and then using a cut block.

That play right there is an example...Brett Moore (the right tackle) runs up and knocks the Alabama DB over. IMO it could've been a touchdown even if he couldn't cut block, though.
