Thread: Georgia Southern vs. Texas State Game Thread

If TXST had kicked the FG instead of going for it on 4th on their first drive, we probably lose.

You never know which 3 points that you take will be the points that end up winning you the game. Chad kicked the FG at the end of the first half they went for it and that was the difference in the game.

Every spring is a reset, then every fall practice is a reset and after three years of resets were running out of reset excuses. CL's OL version of gelling is far from putting points on the scoreboard.

We were actually pretty damn efficient all year before this game. This was a straight up offensive meltdown.

This level of offensive performance will lose us every remaining games. Let's hope this is just the outlier.

I love Fields but he's no "burner", seems to get an opening but stumbles a lot, turf monster seems to trip him up a lot. Plus very very few times were the 0-line getting to second level.

So DeBesse has been running our offense for the last 3 years so we have plenty of continuity and consistency in our scheme, preparation, and gameplanning. That's what you're saying?

    To EF200

You know EF200 that we changed blocking schemes for the Pistol Option. Bigger players and strait up, head to head blocking scheme.

Our old cut blocking system required quicker line men but they were smaller. Wish we could have it both ways.

we still have the offense 2 years to progress.

That may have been the dumbest call I've ever seen. Why in the heck would you even throw the ball where ANYONE can catch it if you just want to run out the clock? Why not throw it out of bounds? Do you realize how stupid we would have looked had they intercepted it and taken it back for a TD?

I hope you are being sarcastic.

Dumbest call you have ever seen? I think it was very low risk.

My buddies and I have agreed to agree that we were horrible...and we won. That is about it. On to the next. Coach looked pretty pissed on the way to the hand shake and off the field. I expect we will be better prepared next time out.

I also recognized the turf monster rearing its ugly head. I wondered again if we had anyone who could break a tackle or at least initial contact. I was then taunted after the game with Breida highlights and watched the blocking and the vision of the back and then the speed and explosiveness through the hole. Spoiled by that for sure. My biggest gripe tonight though...absolutely no throw game. No development or imagination.
