Thread: Gentlemen we are going bowling

  1. Default Re: Gentlemen we are going bowling

I think Georgia Southern's goals year-in, year-out should go like this:

    Tier 1: Become Bowl Eligible
Tier 2: Host a conference championship
Tier 2.5: Win a conference championship (Jump to tier 4)
Tier 3: Win a bowl game (Finish)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
Tier 4: Be selected for the Access Bowl
Tier 4.5: Win the Access Bowl (Finish)

We've made it to tier 1 so far. Now we can focus on tier 2. If we don't complete tier 2, we can still jump it and complete tier 3 but not tier 4.

From First Team meeting with CCL this Fall:

    Goals were listed as
    Win all home games
    Beat APP
    Win Conference
    Southern NEVER State

I think I may be leaving one out
and they may be in the wrong order
    but that's what I remember
Once poked Chad Lunsford in the eye.

Unless the bottom of the Belt pulls itself up no equal record Belt team is making it in over an AAC ever for the foreseeable future. I would throw the MW in their most years as well. We need a one win advantage to equal out the strength of the conferences. Also a close loss to P5 is not as good as beating a P5 in view of most I would imagine.

    Good memory...

I have a picture of this from Coach Lunsford‘s presentation to the team, but I don’t know how to inbed it in a reply like this.
    1. Win Every Game at Paulson Stadium (187-39) (83%)
    2. Win the Sun Belt Conference Championship
    3. Beat App State
    4. Southern never State
    5. Bowl Eligible and Win Bowl Game

I'll be the very first person to say that bowl projections are pointless until the 12th game is in the books but boy this would be a fun one:

AutoNation Cure Bowl, Orlando (2:30 p.m. ET, CBSSN)
