I didn't watch the game. Was Army playing in a phone booth?

It's nice to have the same coach and OC 5 straight seasons, isn't it?

Army wasn't even averaging 30 points a game until yesterday. 4 times this year they scored 21 points or less.

He's also getting some nice recruites, reloading no longer rebuilding. Don't forget one of their 2 losses was OT game vs Oklahoma!

I don’t think anyone cares about 30 points or more.
Considering this is a conversation about how great their offense is, I think it's very relevant to point out that fact.

I believe it was also the first ever 11 win season at Army.
1 of their 2 losses to #4 Oklahoma in overtime.

And I love coach Lunsford, no disrespect to our current staff. But to those who like to believe that the Flexbone gives us a ceiling of only 7/8 maybe 9 wins at the most per year.... You are wrong!

If Army can do that, imagine a University at this level without the recruiting restrictions and Academic limits of a service Academy or a GA Tech. Just saying that such a program SHOULD be able to get better players than those with said challenges. And then what is the ceiling?

Congrats to coach Monken and staff/players
    It was fun to watch.

And congrats to our staff as well.
    It's been a fun season.

I think the counter point, as it relates to offense, being made (just guessing) is that scheme's ability to limit possessions of they other team's offense... Thus, sometimes, allowing you to produce wins without the need to score 30+ points.

People like to say that Time of possession stats mean nothing, and indeed they can be meaningless. But when you get a lead and you can control the clock and the tempo of the game it can be a slow life strangling (Gracie style) system that ensures defeat of the other team - without scoring a lot of points. "He who controls the clock, CAN control the game".

Doesn't mean you couldn't score quickly if needed.. but why "waste the bullets" is the mentality.
