    I like your thinking.....

I wonder if maybe some kind of app would be a better idea.

You could have the radio call running, but have some real-time stats and stuff to reference as well....

I think it would be cool to have some kind of running analysis..... Highlights concerning player and team stats in relevant situations.

Maybe if the wifi system works well, we could make some $$$$ off a subscription app.

Probably too late to throw something together for this season, but I like the idea!

Now that we've got Wifi I assume people can use their phones to listen to the radio crew.

I don't believe there is a market for that with the costs involved.

The radio call would be about 30 seconds delayed.

Couldn’t you just pause the game until the radio caught up?
Oh snap...you can only do that at home! LOL

I think if you have a regular radio (for instance, I used to being my iPod nano & use the radio feature on that before purchasing a different device) & can listen on one of the affiliates, there's not much of a delay. They have an FM transmitter, but for some reason it doesn't work well in Paulson but does ok for baseball.

    It’s the structure of Paulson.

Radio frequency is just like light. FM is line-of-sight.

I have wondered why the radio network stick a low-power repeater up near the stadium. Might could even get the campus radio station to carry it. That tower is much closer, and in a better position.

Hopefully, WiFi will work well. If so, we can just stream. Problem solved.

As others have said though, even with the wifi & stream, you're going to have a delay.
I believe they're hoping to have the FM transmitter working this season, but we'll see how that goes. I'd certainly love for more folks to have the ability to listen to them.

Does golf do something similar? Several golf tournaments I see on tv, a lot of patrons have a single ear radio on a lanyard. I would thing selling a GS branded one in the bookstore or where ever and having a transmitter on the press box would be a great addition to the fan experience

I don't think many places do that anymore with the advent of cell phones being allowed at tournaments.

As far as the student run station - don't they have their own radio team calling the game?
