Thread: Sun Belt Week 7 Thread

Rankings mean a lot as far as getting the program to advance.

If we beat a P5 and got ranked this season, recruiting sure would be a lot easier.

The sad thing is we were tied at the end of 2015. We had the slight edge with the only conference title between the two of us.

    Coaching hires are very important.

I'm not sure that App has hired one as good as the one they lost at the end of last season, but he's at least good enough to not drive their talent down into the ground.

I remember circa 10-16 years ago when Troy was the team we looked at wistfully as they were winning conference championships and beating Power 5 teams like Mizzou and Oklahoma State. I'm sure people remember when Ark State was considered the top dog when we came in and they were coming of 3 straight conference championships. App State's regression to the mean will come. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Teams rise and teams fall especially when you're not the top of the food chain in coach salaries.

I was having this conversation just today. We were essentially neck and neck at the end of 2015.

In the same manner the hire of BVG allowed for App to take the lead over us for several years, the Summers hire has done the same thing. It's an absolute gut punch and should put a fire in every Southern loving belly that we have to do our part:

    Show up. Every game.

    Be loud. Every game.

    Donate what you can.

    Get others to donate.

The Beauty of app state being ranked every year when we play them is that it gives us a top 25 win every year. Hail Southern!

Don't they also have twice the boosters we do? Our fans need to show up and show out.

App State has just under 3,000 members in the Yosef Club. We've never topped the 3,000 donor mark in any year. I'm not sure how that compares to GS.
