I don’t know but would imagine the Bowl is more interested in having a good crowd versus actual tickets sold by the schools. If I understand this correctly each school has to guy a minimum number of tickets regardless of which schools are in the bowl game. The school then has to sell the tickets and hope to break even. I would think the bowl wants people to be in the seats. First from their local sales of tickets (not given to the teams), for atmosphere (more butts in the seats means more energy) and to look good on TV for their sponsors. They also want a good game/matchup. Although I admire his grit in playing with an ACL injury, Ellington's injury will limit Gag's offensive ability and could make the game one-sided.

Our history in the previous two bowls of tickets sold and how many actually showed up should be good indicators of what they can expect. If Gag state could not get more than 75 people to drive 3 ˝ hours to see their team play their in-state rivals then how could they realistically expect thousands to drive to Montgomery or Orlando? I wonder how many Gag State fans attended their previous two bowl games (a possible predictor of what to expect)?

Right. He’d said 3. Which wouldn’t have made them bowl eligible.

Yeah, I gotcha, I was just validating the response since you added the “?.”

I selfishly want us to go to Arizona since I have family there and live in Texas now. But I think the Cure would be the best suited one for us for attendance and matchup

The Cure Bowl representative was at Turner Field on the 22nd when they played South Alabama to the tune of 200 people. They were in Statesboro a week later to watch us play State. Which do you think they were more impressed by? The atmosphere and attendance we brought, or the morgue that is Turner Field?
Yeah, I get that we would provide a much more impressive atmosphere, I am just saying that there is a small chance that the committee’s priority might be selling more tickets over actual seats filled. I’m not saying they will, just that it is possible.

Luckily we’d be able to do both.

GSU Spread Option FOOTBALL - out weighed, but never outplayed
The T-Option is the powerful ground game ever devised & the FLEX is the best way to run it.
If I want your opinion & don't like it I'll tell you what it should be.
