Well I worked for the team as a student, so I enjoy it for that reason. Plus I have some connections who I enjoy spending time with, and that's easier to do if I'm not across town. For me, it just depends on cost. Orlando is more per night than I could spend on an entire weekend at another hotel, so hard pass. And as I said before, I typically travel solo, so it's nice to know I'm around some familiar faces given all the chaos in today's world, especially for females.

And can't say in 20 years and many jobs were I didn't have the flexibility of taking time off (put it in as tentative) especially when you're talking about 1-2 days. Not a whole week off. Now finances between the different bowls - that I get. I've had my hotels booked for 10 months, even before the dates were announced. It costs nothing to book and free cancellation, so I booked up 3 weekends in December for the bowls in each site. Even if you forgot, just book with a gift card (this coming from a good friend in the hotel industry) so you don't get charged the cancellation rate. lol
Thanks. For myself and my wife alone itís not a problem, but for some friends and family we would really like to share the experience with, that just arenít the ďsuper fanĒ we are, itís hard to get solid commitments when they donít know what the airfare is going to be (or even if itís a city they care to visit). Iím just saying that sometimes the ticket preordering is not the best method for everyone.

I guess I've just been blessed to work in a slightly different environment than most. My old job eventually took the hint and just gave me Fridays and Saturdays off (which then caused me to have surplus of PTO since I really only used it for football anyways). I know my mom has been a little frustrated with trying to figure out when she should request, but she's also fairly new at the company she's at, so the pecking order may come into play.

Again, I'm a bit of a nerd who plans WAY in advance. And I can understand where you're coming from by saying that it's more of a philanthropic thing for some people, but even if you ended up with extras, you could probably sell them to someone. Or in cases like Montgomery where seating was snug, extras aren't such a bad thing.

I waited until we hit six wins to book hotels, but definitely made sure I selected ones with no cancellation charge. figured it would at least have a room on hold for me in the host town and if I needed to make adjustments once the official announcements came out, I could. (For example, in Montgomery I booked at the hotel the team stayed at last year, but based on their rotation policy, they should be across the street at the Renaissance. Unfortunately, the Renaissance does not have a free cancellation. so either I hop over there once it is confirmed, or I stay across the street which would not be the end of the world. Both were nice, and I think the embassy has actually undergone renovations since last year.

I've already said I should probably consider being a travel agent either part-time or as my next career.

I really do enjoy it. And the bowls make it so fun!

The fact that nothing has leaked yet is proving to be a little frustrating though. I'm not the best at being patient.

I should be cleaning house or Christmas shopping, but I'm seriously considering going ahead and looking at hotels for Boise State and Ole Miss next year...

I bet you could snag some group deals and discounts for GS fans.

Might be a good side hustle.

(word gets around that we travel in good numbers, we ain’t cheapskates, and maybe you could capitalize on that.). Throw together a few group discounts and specials and maybe you could assemble a package. I think a lot of us would prefer to see a commission go to one of our own.

    Might be worth looking into

when we played there before, my group stayed in Tunica at one of the casinos. It was about 1 1/2 hour drive to the game, but we had a great time.

I have at least one acquaintance who works as an agent, so maybe I'll reach out to her soon and see. I have quite a bit of downtime with my current job, so I think it'd be pretty easy to do.
