Thread: AD Search

    Default AD Search

Any news on the search for our new AD? Paring down applicants, Interviewing prospects or still gathering applications. Just wondering where we're at in the process.

Based on how this search is going, I'm not expecting to hear anything until someone is hired.

That's not a bad thing, it just appears we're keeping it close to the vest.

The search committee is meeting in Atlanta this week. Lots of really good candidates I've been told by two of those on the committee.

Has TK officially left town? Also, is the AD from Armstrong one of the finalist?

Why does our search committee meet in Atlanta?

    I'll give you 3 reasons.
    1. Millions on non stop flights to Atlanta daily from just about anywhere.
    2. Lots of hotel meeting space near the airport.

Pretty much anyone flying would come through Atlanta anyway. Heck someone may have some office space nearby on the committee. I want to say the Atlanta Airport even has meeting room space available for rent. Which would be great for interviews. In and out in the same day. No hotel and less meal costs to pay for. It actually makes a lot of sense.

Based on my experiences interviewing candidates in the past, and interviewing myself, typically you get it down to 3-6 people for the final stage. If that's the point we are at in the process. You can do phone and or skype calls for the first few rounds.

Millions of flights daily? Probably closer to a couple thousand.
