Apples and oranges in my opinion. Basketball is a revenue producing sport and makes the coaching carousel turn more actively. Itís a much more level playing field in baseball where the little guys have a better chance at success.

We have been truly blessed with Coach Stallings, Coach Hennon and others on the diamond.

I have no doubt that menís college basketball as a sport generates more revenue than baseball. Iíd also say teams like Coastal Carolina generate more revenue through baseball than basketball so itís not across the board. I donít see how some can discredit Hennon because baseball is that much different than basketball.

Youíre proving my point. In baseball, a school like Coastal Carolina is more likely to have yearly sustained success in baseball rather than basketball. As such, a coach is less likely to jump ship for a bigger paycheck because the gap in salaries is so much less from top to bottom in baseball than basketball. Most of this is due to television contracts, which create the haves and have nots in basketball. Therefore, jumping ship for a basketball coach generally makes for a much larger raise in pay.

And who is discrediting Coach Hennon?

IMO that's rare, because Football and Basketball make more TV money and have much higher salaries across the board. And I hope Burg is gone in 5 years because he was hired away. That means he made the NCAA's a few times.
No longer eating crow for saying "The TO is gone get over it!!"
