Each day we strive to find article links involving Georgia Southern athletics and former Georgia Southern athletes. Should you find we missed an article link, please reply to help keep the Eagle Faithful informed:

1. Fulford Sets Course Record on Opening Day of Springhill Suites Intercollegiate

[Senior Spencer Fulford owned the day's lowest round of the Springhill Suites Intercollegiate, carding a second-round 63, marking a tournament record and competitive course record at 9-under par. Fulford's 63 broke the previous course record of 64 set by Tom Carr in the 1994 NIKE South Carolina Classic on the Country Club of South Carolina golf course.]

2. Suit Up in Official NIKE Football Coaching Gear

[Official Nike sideline apparel is now available exclusively at The University Store, so Eagle fans can suit up in the same game day gear as the Georgia Southern football coaching staff. Included in the Nike Sideline Exclusives program, Men's and Ladies' Dri-FIT short-sleeve polo shirts, pullovers, crews, jackets, hats, and visors have hit the racks and shelves just in time for football season.]

3. Notebook: Eagles have many questions to answer

[“It’s evident that we’re not moving the ball very well,” Hatcher said. “Everybody says, ‘Well why don’t you throw it downfield?’ It’s hard to when you’ve got four deep back there. When they’ve got four guys whooping your five up front it’s hard to do anything. We’ve got to block better, and if we’re able to do that, I think we’ll be able to move the ball better.”]

4. Weekly whatup: 9.14.09

[Now, at least Georgia Southern had all of its weaknesses exposed. Rather than going week to week thinking a tweak here and a tweak there was all it needed to get the job done, it’s seen the worst-case scenario. The o-line was outmatched by the SDSU d-line, the running backs were basically a non-factor in the playcalling (and pass blocking), the one down-field pass attempt by quarterback Lee Chapple soared over the receiver’s head and the rest of the passes were lacking those all-important yards after catch. Those are even more important when a majority of the passes are screens or in the flats.]

5. Georgia Southern trying to put blowout loss in past

[The memory of the South Dakota State loss, however, is a little fresh in the Eagles' mind, as much as they'd like to forget. "We all have something to prove," Hatcher said. We didn't play well and we're embarrassed by our performance. But again, we played a good team... Their team was well-coached. They were well-prepare, and they were just better than us all the way around the board."]

6. Riversharks Defeat Bridgeport Bluefish, 9-1

[Chris Walker would then step to the plate next, and blast a towering fly ball over the right field wall to give Camden a fifth run. The homeruns were the fifth of the year for both Lydon and Walker.]

7. What We Learned: Some Ohio State fans turning on Tressel

[The solution: Go hire a legitimate quarterbacks coach (see: Chris Hatcher, Georgia Southern head coach), give him input on play-calling and watch how it all unfolds.]
